Job Summary: The Senior Benefits Analyst position is responsible for supporting the planning and administration of health and welfare and retirement benefit plans. Experience with LOA and Retirement required!
Travel: While primarily a remote position, employee is required to attend monthly in office cadence in Central office located in New York City. From time to time, additional in-person team meetings may be required as well.
Essential Functions:
- Point person for the day-to-day operations of health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, HSA, and leave management, and wellness programs.
- Administer the retirement programs and related processes, including funding approval, withdraw requests, and compliance testing/audits.
- Partner with benefits brokers and carriers to ensure efficient administration of all employee benefits including addressing employee inquiries.
- Lead the annual open enrollment cycle, manage open enrollment for benefits, and ensure the accuracy of open enrollment elections to carriers at the end of the year/beginning of the new year.
- Administer leave management programs, including short and long term disability, FMLA, state leave, accommodation requests as well as workers compensation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for benefit administration, questions, and issue resolution.
- Oversee vendor file feeds, data file reviews, and discrepancy reports
- Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes.
- Partner with Sr. Director of Total Rewards to complete annual compliance requirements such as ACA reporting, Form 5500/SAR, compliance notices, state leave laws, annual retirement plan audits and maintaining internal policy updates.
- Partner with the payroll department to ensure proper benefits deductions or payments are made on a timely basis
- Develop and maintain benefit information and policies on internal communication resources.
- Conduct benefits education and training sessions for employees such as open enrollment and new hire orientation.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor on an as needed basis.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience administering employee benefit programs
- Must have strong skillset in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with SmartSheet a plus.
- Must be comfortable interacting with employees via email and phone.
- Prior experience with Ultipro or Workday HRIS
- Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filling and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers’ compensation, Medicare, COBRA, LOA, Retirement, and Social Security, and DOL requirements.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
