As a Lifecycle Specialist: Time & Attendance - Absence Case Manager at Remote, you will play a pivotal role in delivering compliant, efficient, and customer-centric absence management activities while mitigating risks associated with absenteeism and long-term absences. Your responsibilities will encompass identifying, engaging, and managing vendor partnerships, providing expert support to Remote's customers and their employees regarding absence-related inquiries, and spearheading the implementation of policies, processes, and training initiatives related to absence management on a global scale. While the initial focus of this role is Dutch sick leave management, you will have the opportunity to expand your scope and influence across multiple regions.

You will be reporting to Lifecycle Manager: Time & Attendance.

What you bring

  • Extensive expertise in Dutch relevant laws and regulations (Gatekeeper Improvement Act, Sickness Benefits Act, WVP, WIA…) and Dutch social security regulations, demonstrating advanced understanding and application.
  • Proven track record of positively influencing reintegration processes and driving innovative solutions to facilitate return-to-work initiatives.
  • Strong background in independently managing complex leave scenarios with a focus on legal compliance and strategic decision-making, coupled with comprehensive HR advisory experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills in both written and verbal English and Dutch, enabling articulate and persuasive communication of complex Time & Attendance concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and leadership capabilities, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with employees, clients, and cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment, with a proven track record of driving impactful change initiatives and strategic projects.
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic absenteeism prevention programs and knowledge of income insurances and labor laws related to time tracking, attendance, and leave management is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Serve as the principal subject matter expert for internal and external inquiries regarding absence-related matters, with a focus on Dutch sick leave management and extending to multi-country case management within the Time & Attendance domain.
  • Independently resolve complex end-to-end employee leave management issues, demonstrating advanced problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities, while prioritizing an exemplary experience for Remote’s clients and employees.
  • Lead and facilitate high-level meetings with clients and external stakeholders to address leave management issues, provide strategic guidance, and ensure compliant resolution.
  • Provide expert guidance to customers during absenteeism and reintegration processes (Wet Verbetering Poortwachter), offering innovative solutions and strategic insights.
  • Collaborate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure strict compliance in leave management activities and audits, demonstrating strong leadership and negotiation skills.
  • Spearhead the development and enhancement of Time & Attendance standard operating procedures (SOPs), leveraging advanced knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, automation efforts, and product development projects aimed at optimizing the customer and employee experience throughout the offboarding process.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive repository of policies and procedures aligned with legal requirements and industry standards, demonstrating advanced regulatory knowledge and attention to detail.
  • Serve as a mentor and trusted advisor to junior team members, providing expert guidance, coaching, and support to foster their professional development.
  • Proactively gather feedback from stakeholders and leverage insights to drive strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the employee journey and experience.
  • Oversee the meticulous management of employee data to ensure confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory requirements, demonstrating advanced data management skills.
  • Exemplify Remote's values both internally and externally, actively contributing to the success of the Lifecycle team's strategic objectives and initiatives.

At first glance our salary bands seem quite wide - here is some context. At Remote we have international operations and a globally distributed workforce.  We use geo ranges to consider geographic pay differentials as part of our global compensation strategy to remain competitive in various markets while we hiring globally.

The base salary range for this full-time position is $31,200 USD to $70,000 USD. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location, and our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay for the successful candidate in this role is dependent upon many factors such as location, transferable or job-related skills, work experience, relevant training, business needs, and market demands. The base salary range may be subject to change.
