The Role:
The Senior Manager of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) will play a vital supporting role in the bank’s overall risk management strategy by working with Senior Leadership to identify, evaluate, and opine on how to mitigate risks that could impact the Bank. The Senior Manager will help ensure our continued success by enhancing existing risk management practices. On any given day, one will tap into the variety of risk areas and be asked to opine and act on best practices as they apply to all things risk.
Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of Risk Leadership, assist in the process of identifying and analyzing potential risks across the entire organization, including financial, operational, strategic, compliance, and reputational risks.
- Manage risk assessments and scenario analyses to evaluate the potential impact and likelihood of risks materializing.
- Oversee and enhance risk profiles and risk registers.
- Further develop and implement comprehensive risk mitigation strategies, action plans, and frameworks to minimize the identified risks effectively.
- Collaborate with various business units to ensure that appropriate risk controls are in place, and risk management practices are embedded in day-to-day operations.
- Implement risk-transfer mechanisms to address specific risks.
- Maintain a robust risk governance structure, including policies, procedures, and risk appetite guidelines, aligned with industry standards and best practices.
- Create regular reports and presentations for the senior management team and the Board of Directors, providing insights into the organization's risk profile, trends, and effectiveness of risk mitigation efforts.
- Support a risk-aware culture across the organization.
- Ensure the organization is adequately prepared to respond to emergencies, including business continuity and disaster recovery planning through collaboration in developing plans for potential crises or major risk events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, related field, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 7+ years of proven and progressive Commercial banking/ financial services operations, compliance, and/or legal management experience or equivalent.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to risk management and compliance.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience in evaluating compliance, risk management, and operational risk concepts and prudent practices for managing those risks.
- CAMS and Risk Management certification preferred.
- Familiarity with BSA/AML and OFAC information technology, concepts, and applications in a wide range of operating environments.
- Sound judgment and strong analytical/problem-solving skills.
- Project management skills and ability to manage project risks.
The hiring range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. A bonus and/or incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, dental, vision, 401k, and other benefits.
