Job Summary
May Mobility is entering into an exciting phase of growth as we expand our first-of-its-kind autonomous shuttle and mobility services across the nation. We are looking for a Technical Support Manager to oversee the technical support team, establishing the plans to ensure vehicle issues are quickly resolved. This role will report directly to the Director of Production and Reliability.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead a team of technical support engineers that provide immediate support to deployment sites in the US and Japan
- Continually enhance the employee talent base via performance reviews, mentoring and hiring
- Ensure standardized tracking and trending of issues, with the ability to report out on issues, root cause, and corrective actions
- Follow up with operations team to gauge their satisfaction with problem resolution
- Contribute to effective knowledge base as new failure modes and resolutions occur
- Recommend and track improvements to vehicle hardware and software based on data analysis
- Effectively utilize tools to resolve issues and escalate appropriately
- Prioritize effective resource allocation for future scale-up efforts
- Communicate within engineering and with the broader company about improvement progress and goals
Qualifications and Skills
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or related engineering degree
- 5+ years of experience in a technical role with 3+ years of experience in a leadership role
- Demonstrated analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Demonstrated team leadership experience
- Impeccable technical communication skills
- Demonstrated project management experience, with a specific focus on timing, benchmarks, and meeting deadlines
- Understanding of software and hardware development processes
- Willingness to undergo a driving record check
- Ability to operate and drive May Mobility vehicles
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
Desirable Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field
- Experience with Continuous Improvement methods: Lean, Six Sigma, 8D, CA/PA
- Prior experience in a startup environment
- Prior experience in autonomous robotics systems
- Experience working within an “Agile” software development process
- Experience working with Linux
