Job Summary

May Mobility is in an exciting phase of growth and we are looking for a Business Development Manager to grow our business and source, develop, and close commercial opportunities for our transportation service. This role will report to the Director, Sales & Business Development and have the opportunity to work with stakeholders across Customer Success, Operations, Product, and Engineering. This role is remote first and has the option of working from our office in Ann Arbor, Michigan. 

Job Priorities: 

  • Build a qualified pipeline by finding new opportunities for May Mobility in the B2B space and defining which partners to engage and how to engage them. Successfully move business opportunities through prospecting, proposals, and contracting to service launch.
  • Meet with prospects and external stakeholders to understand their needs and challenges. Present May Mobility’s solutions and report key learnings back to internal stakeholders.
  • Comfortable managing two business verticals, developing strong relationships across the sector and serving as an expert to influence internal and external teams to launch AV services. 
  • Representing May Mobility at relevant industry events, tradeshows and within organizations.   
  • Own, design and execute business development deals. Will require development of supporting materials throughout the sales lifecycle and ability to define compelling win-win partnerships that drive prospects further down the funnel.
  • Lead negotiation, drafting of agreements and definition of partnership terms.
  • Source RFP opportunities and grant opportunities. Work with key internal stakeholders including Director of Sales & Business Development, Policy & Advocacy, RFP Manager, Product, Customer Success and Engineering teams to write and submit compelling project applications. 
  • Develop strategic recommendations, targeting strategies and business proposals that grow May’s business. 

Qualifications and Skills

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, sales or transportation
  • Proven experience selling transportation solutions in one (or more) of the following verticals: Airports and Aviation, Healthcare and Non-Emergency Medical Transportation, Campus and Corporate Shuttles and/or Planned Communities & Resorts; experience selling fleets a plus
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills across multiple platforms 
  • Have negotiated and closed multi-million dollars and multi-year contracts
  • Ability to work effectively with team members at all levels of the organization
  • Have demonstrable big “wins” from prior roles
  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to travel within assigned region approximately 25-50% of the time
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record for at least 3 years
  • Ability to operate and drive May Mobility vehicles

Desirable Qualifications (not required)

  • Passionate about the autonomous vehicle space
  • Strong understanding of mobility patterns and trends
  • Experience with RFX proposals
  • Comfortable working in a start-up environment proving out new technology use cases

Physical Requirements

  • Standard office working conditions which includes but is not limited to:

    • Prolonged sitting

    • Prolonged standing

    • Prolonged computer use

    • Lift up to 50 pounds

Remote employees work primarily from home or an alternative work space.

Ability to travel within assigned region and nationally approximately 25-50% of the time

 

Salary Range
$95,000$135,000 USD
