MatX is on a mission to be the compute platform for AGI. We are looking for someone to work collaboratively with our operations manager, senior team and company to ensure we build an efficient and effective organization positioned well for growth. This is a generalist operator role for a rapidly growing early-stage company.

This leader will ensure that the MatX office is managed effectively, including assessing our readiness to move into larger spaces when merited. This person will also oversee all financial reporting on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis both internally and with investor stakeholders. This person will manage our HR and People Ops efforts including building out our total rewards programs, facilitating necessary learning and development and team building activities and managing internal and external resources to drive talent acquisition and employee onboarding. This leader will manage one direct report and may have the opportunity to hire additional team members as the need arises.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the Talent Acquisition process working with the executive team, hiring managers, interview panel participants, onboarding buddies, external recruiters and the candidates to bring high-caliber team members to MatX
  • Alongside the executive team, drive a Total Rewards strategy for MatX and work with the Ops Manager to execute (e.g., managing brokers, open enrollment, etc)
  • Track and trend operational and financial KPIs for the business (monthly, quarterly, and annually)
  • Drive People Operations needs across the board, including revising and publishing Employee Handbooks, responding to employee feedback, payroll and expense management, partnering with executive leadership on employee relations needs and actively engaging in building the company's culture through words and actions
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and ops manager to deliver regular Town Hall meetings and other company-wide internal and external communications
  • Ensure the office is supporting the team as it grows and lead the effort to identify new space as the company exceeds the bounds of the existing space
  • Organize the cross-functional review and planning for updating, adding or removing enterprise systems that enable the company’s growth
  • Coach and mentor Ops Manager to continue to grow professionally and work as a team to accomplish Operational goals
  • Additional responsibilities that will come up on ad-hoc basis

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in operations, HR, program management, communications, accounting or other fields that would set someone up for success in this role
  • Background in Start up and/or a Technology company a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to quickly move from one priority to the next and offer guidance to direct report(s) and other team members on how to move through barriers
  • Strong business acumen and creativity including the ability to generate innovative insights and ideas to identify new opportunities that help drive the team forward
  • Outcome-driven mindset with an ability to bring areas of gray into clarity through actions and driving projects to completion
  • Strong problem solving skills, including the ability to simplify complex problems with a structured approach and develop data-backed solutions
  • Experienced and passionate change agent. Able to influence and build consensus and trust across teams to accelerate outcomes by incorporating others’ input while remaining focused on execution.

Compensation: The US base salary for this full-time position is $50,000 - $75,000 + equity + benefits
