Overview

Materialize is hiring someone to help own and uplevel our accounting function as our first internal accounting specialist. You will manage all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, financial and tax reporting, and budgeting, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. You will work closely with our external accounting and finance teams as well as our internal operations, financial planning and product teams. You will have significant responsibility in a fast growing organization. We sponsor visas for US work authorization.

What you will have

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

CPA or CMA preferred

5+ years of hands-on accounting experience with at least 1 year of experience managing a team

Experience with creating financial statements

Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process

Excellent accounting software user and administration skill

Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures

Ownership mindset with a high degree of accountability

Experience with usage-based software revenue accounting as well as software annual contract accounting a strong plus

Experience at fast growing startups a strong plus

What you will do         

Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition

Support the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and including variance reporting

Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements

Support month-end and year-end close process

Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting

Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

Manage relationships with external accounting team, auditors, tax specialists, and other providers

Implement software or other systems and protocols necessary to maintain internal controls and accurate financial reporting
