Markforged is looking for a Technical Program Specialist II. The Technical Program Specialist II, reporting into the Engineering Program Management Office, is a critical “utility player” across Markforged’s New Product Introductions (NPI).   The Technical Program Specialist II has 3 key responsibilities:

  1. Support core Engineering teams in the completion of tactical tasks through the NPI process, such as Purchase Order placement, material tracking, BOM creation, and prototype build/asset management.
  2. Assist in organization of technical plans, process, methodology, and best practice development as it relates to NPI of hardware systems.
  3. Interface with Program Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Finance resources.

What you have:

  • 3+ years of  technical experience working with electromechanical systems.
  • 2+ years of program management experience.
  • BS in Engineering disciplines highly preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work in a large, cross-functional team environment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Comfortable dealing with change.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at a time.
  • Experience synchronizing BOMs and other data between PLM and PDM systems.
  • Experience with PLM tools; Arena experience preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with PDM tools; Solidworks PDM experience preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with GSuite tools: Specifically strong experience with spreadsheets or Excel.
  • Prior experience working with manufacturing vendors; overseas experience preferred, but not required.

Examples of day-to-day tasks

  • Managing the ordering and tracking of sub-components for early prototyping and engineering builds between sub-tier vendors, contract manufacturers and Markforged.
  • Creating, structuring, and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs) in PLM during engineering development.
  • Material management, including Clear to Build (CTB) analysis and Build Matrix maintenance.
  • Creating purchase requests, maintaining program spending, confirming receipt of goods for department ordering.
  • Work with finance on budget management including creating and maintaining budget tracking tools, managing open order reports and maintaining purchase order invoice reconciliations.
  • ECR/ECO release management- coordinate with ICs on timing, status, combine and coordinate ECR/ECOs as necessary.
  • Track and manage resolution of production issues for prototypes and early builds.
