Overview
Engineering Technicians at Lithos are the hands and problem solvers that help the engineering department execute on a daily basis, working cross functionally with ME and EE design engineers to test and validate both new and existing Lithos products. Engineering Technicians are a key factor to the success at Lithos and relied upon for executing creation of SOP’s, assembling new prototypes, test fixtures, test reports, as well as all levels of test execution for cell, module, and pack level.
Engineering Technicians at Lithos will be cross trained in all functional areas of battery testing and will have the opportunity to learn and grow as Lithos expands our internal testing capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Build and implement lab SOPs.
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed and the lab operates in a safe manner.
- Fabricate and modify testing fixtures and equipment.
- Partner with design engineering to create prototype module assemblies.
- Collaborate with engineering for scheduling, test setup, BOM execution.
- Prepare, execute, and report generation for tests on batteries and high voltage sub-systems (mechanical, electrical, and thermal abuse)
- Develop and characterize new test methodologies, fixtures, means of evaluating performance, and workflow improvements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- +4 years working in a testing/data collection environment.
- Prior experience working on battery thermal abuse, electrical abuse, and mechanical abuse testing is a plus.
- Prior experience with high voltage batteries and systems is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong technical communication skills (written and verbal).
- High awareness of safety hazards, procedures, and best practices is a plus.
- Custom fabrication experience.
- Experience with machining, welding, fabrication, hand tools, etc.
- Experience working with batteries, high voltage, or hazardous materials.
- Ability to work independently without supervision on complex tasks
Pay - $35-55 per hour - Plus Benefits / DEO
