About Kinetic 

The Kinetic team is on a mission to create a safer workplace and better life for the industrial workforce around the world. Kinetic has a patented wearable device, called Reflex, which sits on the wearer’s hip and alerts them when they perform a high-risk motion which could lead to an injury. Our wearable technology has been proven to reduce injuries by 55%, and has been deployed to tens of thousands of industrial workers at some of the leading Fortune 500 firms, including Pepsi, DHL and Home Depot. Starting in 2022 Kinetic partnered with Nationwide to sell Workers Compensation insurance, where policyholders get our technology for free as part of their insurance policy.

Kinetic is based in New York city, but has workers based remotely in many geographic locations. At this stage, Kinetic has approximately 50 employees across groups ranging from software development to enterprise customer success to business development for insurance. Kinetic is starting to grow quickly due to the rapid growth in both its insurance product offering and enterprise sales, with 10x growth in just 2 years.

The Role

This role is a new position at Kinetic that will be joining our Insurance Operations team. This person will be responsible for managing our technology enabled transitional duty programs and supporting claim closure with the goal of  both reducing our policyholders’ total cost of risk and accelerating injury recovery times. This position will directly work with policyholders through various touchpoints, both virtual and in person, while collaborating with the development team to optimize and improve our product offering. This position will also support our in house Claims and Underwriting teams to control Kinetic's overall loss ratio.


Tech Enabled Transitional Duty Program Oversight:

  • Manage Kinetic’s transitional duty program offerings through the full lifecycle from initial injury to MMI.
  • Develop new workflows that improve transitional duty KPIs
  • Provide development teams with feedback & enhancements to improve the overall experience. 
  • Own FAQ / Transitional duty program utilization guides & related content.
  • Analyze data and report results to management.
  • Perform special projects as needed.

Claims Management:

  • Provide best in class customer experience supporting claims management.
  • Client onboarding - Claims & Transitional Duty Focus.
  • Nationwide portal training to include supporting Nationwide claims services.
  • Claims review scheduling and management for Kinetic policy holders.
  • On demand claims management consultation for Kinetic policy holders.
  • Transitional duty program development and deployment to Kinetic policy holders.
  • Assist in closing out medical only files and alleviate M/O's from transitioning to lost time or reserve increases.


  • The ideal candidate will have over 4 years of workers compensation claims experience, including managing lost time, litigated claims, loss reserve analysis, and conducting claim reviews directly with policyholders and their agents.
  • Knowledge or experience with Return-to-Work protocols and programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with all levels of staff.
  • Demonstrated successful ability to build positive relationships and partnerships within the department, across the organization, and with external customers.
  • Proficient in Excel creating pivot tables and charts. Preferable if you have experience plotting and visualizing data in a business intelligence platform such as Tableau or Looker.
  • Experience with PowerPoints and presentations.
  • Ideally, proficient with the Google Suite of business products.
  • Preferable if you’ve worked at an Insurtech company or MGA
