Business Application Developer, ServiceNow
Job location: This position will work from our Ottawa office where you will be required to work 2-3 days from the office. If you are based in Toronto or Montreal you will have an option to work fully remote.
About the team
The Business Application Developer, ServiceNow contributes to the work on highly integrated applications and platforms that drive the business forward. Partnering with senior developers and business analysts, the incumbent supports the team in developing new user experiences and creating digital solutions to solve challenges within ServiceNow. The incumbent ensures that business applications meet compliance requirements and provides efficient solutions to team members within Corporate IT on the necessary support and enhancement of our business applications.
What you will do
- Support the implementation of new application projects, and provide support for our platforms and business applications, specifically ServiceNow, including upgrades, enhancements, fixes, and features, in collaboration with business SMEs, and team members within Solution Architecture and Business Analysis.
- Participate in delivering system testing; configuring, automating, documenting, and performing test cases and test scripts to identify and correct issues or to verify desired functionality.
- Design, develop, and document solutions on new platforms and applications, and support the testing of new features and capabilities on existing applications and platforms, providing best practices and analysis to the rest of the team.
- Contribute to code reviews, adopting and documenting code and configuration management best practices.
- Work in collaboration with your team to deliver projects on Agile methodology.
What we are looking for
- Minimum 5 years of experience in developing on cloud-based business applications.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including change management expertise and the ability to translate complex, technical requirements for a non-technical audience.
- Strong relationship-building and influencing skills and the ability to prioritize business requirements appropriately through a collaborative partnership approach.
- Ability to anticipate technical implications of decisions on platforms and applications, and proactively plan for the future.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy considerations in systems.
