Senior Manager, Academic Alliances

Job location: This position is to be hired in Canada or USA and will be remote unless you live in the Ottawa area in which the role will be hybrid.

About the team

Kinaxis is grounded in the belief that people matter here. As Senior Manager, Academic Alliances, you will be a key contributor to our Kinaxis Office of Strategy, and you will be a part of an energetic team that guides our strategic direction and delivers results.

Reporting to our Senior Director, Industry Outreach and Academic Alliances, you will uniquely span both the Kinaxis Academic Program and our Industry Outreach to be at the forefront of business collaborations, world-class supply chain research agendas, and emerging ecosystems. You will manage and continuously innovate our Kinaxis Academic Program to provide credible context for how Kinaxis addresses the world’s most pressing supply chain management challenges and growth opportunities.

What you will do

  • Lead a global academic program that balances customized outreach with reach and scalability while capturing reusable insights beneficial in the classroom and beyond.
  • Team with our academic program manager and faculty leaders to evangelize supply chain planning with experiential learning powered by Kinaxis RapidResponse®. Includes measuring learning effectiveness.
  • Create a Kinaxis Academic Hub to host curated cases, teaching assets and a platform for ideas that bring together faculty, students, and potential customers committed to the next generation of supply chain leaders.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from across the business to help build a talent pipeline for Kinaxis and our customers by identifying programs best matched to hiring needs and collaborating with HR on programs to engage and recruit.
  • Connect supply chain leaders and academic luminaries to invite conversation and new perspectives grounded in cutting-edge research.
  • Build academic partnerships that generate thought leadership.
  • Monitor emerging trends that have potential to disrupt supply chains, both positively and negatively, and evaluate opportunities to partner in academic research and/or industry outreach to advance understanding. Time spent partnering with a portfolio of academic thought leaders, industry and vertical experts will vary.
  • Develop and track impact metrics aligned to company objectives.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree (preference for related field, e.g., business, analytics, supply chain, operations, engineering). Masters preferred.
  • 7+ years managing business and/or technology partnerships with an innovative mindset. A preference for experience partnering with faculty in higher education at both the teaching and research level.
  • 7+ years exhibiting knowledge of complex B2B sales cycles. Experience managing projects with cross-functional teams across geographic regions, US and EMEA, is a plus.
  • Proficiency outlining mutually beneficial multi-year partnership contracts and delivering on measurable results with exceptional project management and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated success articulating and evangelizing ideas across audiences, both internal and external, as well as effective use of social media to communicate.
  • Competency to work independently, develop program strategy, and implement ongoing process improvements to achieve successful execution.
  • Ability to travel, up to 35% of the time, in North America as well as internationally on occasion.
  • Curiosity and passion to revolutionize supply chain management and impact humanity.
