Khan Academy's mission is to provide a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere. To fulfill this mission, we are looking for an exceptional Math Fellow to create content and work on our Brazilian site.
In this role, you’ll work closely with the team in Brazil, as well as the content team in the United States. You will also contribute with aligning our math content to BNCC (Base nacional comum curricular), which will not only mean reorganizing our website but also creating content that is relevant to Brazilian teachers and learners. This is a one-year position.
Write outlines for videos covering Brazilian elementary and middle school math concepts
Adapt existing content to BNCC guidelines
Create math questions to help students practice skills, apply concepts, and diagnose their knowledge gaps
Ensure content is high quality by working with students and teachers, tracking content performance, and modifying content based on quantitative data and qualitative feedback
Native level of fluency in Portuguese and fluency in English
An excellent command of Brazilian elementary and middle school math
A working knowledge of BNCC standards and how they affect the math curriculum
Experience teaching math, formally or informally
Great intuition for how students like to learn and insight into common misconceptions
An entrepreneurial mindset, including a high tolerance for ambiguity, a penchant for experimentation, and a bias toward action
Impeccable written communication skills
Meticulous attention to detail and excellent time management skills
Computer skills (fluent with Google docs and spreadsheets) and a willingness to learn new tools
A passion for education and a desire to change the world and a bias towards action

To be available to have a full-time workload, in person or remotely, and be able to travel to São Paulo if/when necessary. Hours may be flexible.
