What You'll Do:
As a Commercial Business Development professional at Inversion, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth through the acquisition of commercial clients and strategic partnerships. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with key decision-makers, and driving the successful execution of commercial agreements and partnerships.
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, including partnerships, collaborations, and strategic alliances, that align with our business objectives and growth targets.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to drive commercial growth and expand our client base.
- Prospect, qualify, and engage with potential commercial clients through targeted outreach, networking, and relationship-building activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders within target companies to understand their needs and priorities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, product, and operations, to develop tailored solutions and proposals to meet the needs of commercial clients.
- Lead the negotiation and closing of commercial agreements, contracts, and partnerships, ensuring favorable terms and mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Manage the end-to-end sales process, from lead generation and qualification to contract negotiation and deal closure, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for clients.
- Track and report on commercial business development activities, including pipeline status, deal progress, and revenue projections, to the leadership team on a regular basis.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities and stay ahead of the competition.
- Represent Inversion at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote our brand, build relationships, and generate new commercial leads.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Experience in a technical role in engineering.
- 4+ years of experience in business development, sales, or related roles, preferably in a startup or high-growth environment.
- Proven track record of identifying and closing new business opportunities, driving revenue growth, and building strategic partnerships.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills with the ability to establish and maintain connections with key stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and influence decision-makers.
- Strategic thinker with a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, capable of identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to drive win-win outcomes and navigate complex deal structures.
- Results-oriented with a focus on meeting and exceeding targets and objectives.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
Desired Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a startup environment.
- Prior Aerospace experience
This is an onsite role in our Torrance, CA office.
The California annual base salary for this role is currently $150,000 - $250,000. Pay Grades are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual pay will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: interviews and an assessment of several factors that are unique to each candidate, job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and internal equity.
