What's the opportunity? 🤔

We are looking for an experienced Senior Engineering Manager in our Platform group that plays a critical role in Intercom strategy. We continue investing in the interoperability of our data platform through APIs, integrations, and flexible developer frameworks. We believe that reliable domain data is critical for our company strategy and we see this space growing over time. Some of the goals ahead of this team would be to:

  • Build flexible and powerful APIs that enable our customers to easily get any necessary data into Intercom;

  • Build integrations with top-tier strategic partners such as SFDC, Stripe or Shopify to provide no-code, easy-to-use data-in options;

  • Build and execute interoperability strategy for enterprise data storage solutions such as 5tran, Snowflake.

What will I be doing? 🚀

  • Leading a team of engineers working on high-scale distributed systems for our public data APIs and integrations

  • Working closely with customers and external developers to understand their pains and increase the adoption of our platform

  • Consistently shipping new capabilities in a reliable, safe, and fast manner, in line with our culture.

  • Partnering with engineering, product, and design leaders to shape team direction and strategy.

  • Enabling your team to achieve high levels of productivity, performance, and reliability.

  • Teaching, mentoring, coaching, and being a role model for engineers and other engineering managers. 

  • Creating a collaborative, inclusive, and supportive team culture focused on fast, focused high-impact execution. 

What skills do I need? 📖

  • You are a people manager first and foremost, with a strong track record of growing engineers in their personal growth and career progression.

  • You have experience leading teams building for multiple types of customers like internal and external developers

  • You have experience delivering capabilities built to last as APIs, ideally for a public developer platform or for private integrations with external software.

  • You worked with or built highly scalable systems in a safe and reliable manner.
