OVERVIEW

Ingenuity Prep prepares PreK - 8th grade students in Ward 8 to succeed in college and beyond as impactful civic leaders. Our innovative instructional model promotes small group learning for students, collaborative teaching teams, and robust coaching and professional development opportunities for teachers and staff.

We are looking for an outstanding Director of Talent to join our school. As a member of the Ingenuity Prep Student’s Talent Team, you will join a four-person team to support leaders, teachers, and students and families as a critical partner in ensuring we have the best talent in DC! In this role, you will lead recruitment, selection and leadership development work. You will manage one staff member and work with leaders across the school to ensure that continual improvement in talent practices.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Director of Talent at Ingenuity Prep, you will:

  • Partner with the Chief Talent Officer to set a vision for and plan to achieve organization-wide talent goals
  • Oversee the school’s recruitment strategy and manage one Recruitment Manager
  • Develop and update the school’s selection models to meet the needs of the school and ensure equity-centered processes.  
  • Create and lead programming to onboard new staff and support development or existing staff members
  • Manage leadership development programming and create internal leadership pipelines
  • Recruit external leaders to join the organization
  • Engage with partner organizations and prospective candidates to enhance and develop the organization’s talent brand.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent and equitable talent practices from selection forward
  • Serve as a member of the school’s senior leadership team 

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Ingenuity Prep may be the right fit for you if:

  • You have at least 5 years of experience leading and managing talent initiatives in school setting including recruitment, retention, professional development, evaluation and DEI
  • Strong strategic thinker; ability to see and manage to 'the big picture' while driving impact on specific initiatives
  • You’re a self starter who can quickly ramp up and build relationships with different personalities
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and focused on getting things done in a systematic, process driven manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to lead through others as a manager and an influencer
  • Ability to work independently, take direction, receive feedback and execute accordingly.
  • Strong sense of urgency and demonstrated ability to "get it done"
  • You have a track record of holding high expectations.
