Measure Labs- Senior Backend Engineer

The U.S. ranks last on access to care, administrative efficiency, equity, and healthcare outcomes, despite spending far more of its gross domestic product (17% of GDP) on healthcare than any other industrialized nation. In the largest ever realignment of incentives, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) have committed billions to value-based payments that aim to promote care efficiency and reduced spend. Those organizations that will succeed in this new model will move quickly towards predictive healthcare- Measure Labs is enabling providers, payors and digital health entities to identify the highest-risk patients and prioritize them for care coordination and targeted interventions, in order to prevent escalations. Using deep learning to analyze smartphone sensor data, its technology is able to map physiological health risk in real time and enable the future of population health management.

We are seeking an excellent Senior Backend Engineer to lead the development of our cloud backend infrastructure. In this role, you will work alongside world leaders in AI for healthcare and build critical software infrastructure to support our suite of mobile health sensing products.

Required qualifications:

  • BS or MS in computer science or related field
  • 5+ years experience building, maintaining and scaling backend infrastructure (microservices, DevOps, databases, API integrations)
  • Deep understanding of cloud services, including infrastructure-as-code, serverless compute, databases (SQL and NoSQL) and data storage. Experience with AWS services preferred.
  • Expertise in designing and deploying REST API-based containerized microservices
  • Experience maintaining and monitoring production systems in cloud provider such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Proficient in Python programming including object-oriented design, testing, and dependency management
  • Understanding of web protocols, security best practices, and authorization patterns (OIDC, OAUTH)
  • Passionate about the entire software development lifecycle starting from requirement gathering and planning to release and production maintenance
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
