Job Summary

The Director, eCommerce Insights & Analytics is a strategic leader responsible for leading and building a high performing eCommerce Data Analytics function for Amare Global. We’re looking for a seasoned, creative thinker who is passionate about leveraging analytics to drive actionable insights that result in dramatic revenue growth. You will champion our data strategy; focusing on building and maintaining a strong business acumen and technical prowess to improve the return on investment of our database whilst working in conjunction with IT to optimize our data foundations. You will own and drive the ecommerce analytics and optimization function, which brings together internal business analytics with web and consumer analytics and apply predictive analytics to deliver smart, personalized, and profitable shopping experiences for our customers. This role reports into the Chief Digital Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Develop and lead a team of data analysts across digital product, ensuring strategic alignment and rapid executional excellence.
  • Data Driven Decision Making and Experimentation: Exhibit ownership and leadership by personally carrying out advanced data analysis, pinpointing data quality concerns, and discovering significant actionable insights and recommendations to drive sustainable revenue growth. Thought leader and advocate for data-driven decision-making, analytics, and experimentation across the organization.
  • eCommerce Analytics Focus: Analyze eCommerce business performance and trends, providing weekly actionable insights and root-cause analysis for rapid decision-making across commercial teams. Design and apply advanced analytical techniques to address business challenges, such as customer acquisition/growth, maximizing AOV, and driving profitability.
  • eCommerce Promotions: Conduct detailed promotional analysis for monthly business promotions including shipping, product, incentive, and membership focused promotions. Exemplify a read/react mentality constantly optimizing and improving upon promotional strategy and offering to maximize basket building, ROI and drive profitability.
  • eCommerce Web Analytics and Tagging: You are the Champion of GA4. Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of GA4 ensuring all data sources are correctly connected and tagged, data ingested is clean and complete. Create ongoing and ad-hoc custom reporting and analysis across all business units and stakeholders.
  • Ecommerce Personalization: Guide a test and learn methodology to optimize and personalize our product experience, design, and build recommendations engines to drive optimal product category mix, maximize sell-through and profitability, and deliver the best possible value to our customers.
  • Digital Marketing: Develop and implement advanced analytics models, including predictive propensity, marketing mix, and marketing attribution models, to drive revenue and informed decision-making.
  • Forecasting: Use advanced analytical techniques to model and predict effects of specific initiatives and investments in combination with external factors to isolate key drivers of revenue and margin outcomes and help deliver consistency in financial performance
  • Data Utilization: Evaluate current processes & tools; Identify opportunities to drive efficiencies and deliver stronger outcomes for the business and manage related cross-functional implementation plans. Partner with IT Data Engineering team to design and maintain data warehousing solutions accessible to business users.
  • Business Planning: Collaborate with Commercial and Finance leaders for annual and quarterly planning, utilizing consumer engagement data and business insights.
  • Reporting: Develop and maintain key performance metrics for regular reporting and analysis to stakeholders and executive leadership across the full funnel.
  • Other:
    • Incorporate data and insights from an omnichannel perspective (e.g. Retail, Amazon) to inform a more holistic view of our business.
    • Serve as an ecommerce analytics SME for internal clients, facilitating business reviews, reporting, and related analytics where needed.
    • Stay current with new technologies, methods, and industry trends to maintain the company's data-driven innovation edge.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in eCommerce data analytics, business analytics, strategy and/or optimization role in an eCommerce environment with a track record of success in data-driven decision-making. 3+ years of experience in a people management role, demonstrated ability to manage and develop high performing data teams.
  • BA/BS with strong academic record, preferably in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or other quantitative discipline preferred. MBA from a top tier school or similar degree desired.
  • Experience in a DTC technology company with a dynamic, fast-paced setting strongly preferred; consumer goods experience required.
  • Ability to develop and lead strategy while getting down in the weeds with the team to drive fast and effective execution from day 1 with limited resources.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with modern data processing frameworks and tools (e.g., Hex, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, Hadoop, Spark).
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms and data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
  • Experience in clickstream tracking and pathing analysis; experience with tools like Google Analytics/Adobe Analytics/Heap required.
  • Understanding of statistical methods for personalization experimentation (A/B/n, MVT, regression modeling); experience with tools like Optimizely/Google Optimize/VWO/Adobe Target a plus.
  • Demonstrated capability of designing, developing, and managing operational KPI dashboards; experience with tools like Tableau/PowerBI/Looker/Grafana a plus
  • Experience with and understanding of financial margin contribution analysis and forecasting, price elasticity, catalog/inventory trend analysis.
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results in a high growth environment.
  • Desire to make an impact on business decisions with data; possess a balance of strong quantitative and analytical skills with a passion in business and leadership.
  • Collaborator who thrives on teamwork and has a demonstrated ability to accomplish goals by working cross-functionally; an evangelist who can get stakeholders on board with a plan and leverage cross-functional resources to get things done.
  • Appreciative of the power of a data-driven environment and serve as a data evangelist to help grow and build a highly analytical culture.
