IPAC Business Development Manager

The primary purpose of this position is to grow Hydrite’s market share in food ingredients within identified geographic areas across a diversified range of food manufacturing customers.  Target profitable new business, and the development / expansion of our existing product portfolio. This includes helping to facilitate and accomplish the goals that have been identified as critical to our success for maintaining and growing IPAC Sales within our Food Segment.  Will require internal collaboration with Food – Sales, Procurement, and Product Management.  We're looking for someone with experience in the food processing and/or chemical industry, who has sold food ingredients, commodities and/or processing aids. 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Achieve annual margin goals by leading and executing full sales cycle, including prospecting, building a pipeline, and contract execution for new customers.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of strategic plans for their area of responsibility.
  • Create appropriate business analyses and operating profit modeling on any new sales growth opportunities to insure acceptable margin contribution.
  • Monitors and adjusts Business Development plans to maintain key account maintenance and growth activities.
  • Ensure all account information and activity is current and updated on SalesForce/CRM system
  • Negotiate long term purchase agreements with target corporations
  • Establish key partnerships with industry experts to accelerate Hydrite’s growth and brand visibility within the assigned region.
  • Maximizes time in the field (minimum 2 days per week) to expedite the closure of target accounts, generating new opportunities, interface with the field sales and management staff, and maintain key account rapport.
  • Manages ingredient and commodity pricing for key accounts to maximize profitability and grow market share.
  • Communicates qualified information to Food Sales Management, Procurement, and Product Management to expedite the closure of target accounts and opportunities.
  • Supervise the composition of key sales presentations to major accounts.
  • Maintain active involvement in key food industry associations.
  • Works with other staff members to maintain workload balances. Provides back-up support as necessary.
  • Supports effective communication with all Hydrite departments where responsibilities overlap to ensure success of the branch team.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

  • This position reports to the Director of Sales - Food Business Development.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university is required; technical degree in food science, chemistry or business preferred. 
  • Minimum 5-7 years related experience in food industry, food chemical or chemical sales required. Food ingredient sales strongly preferred.
  • Possess mechanical aptitude and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Power Point, Word, and Excel required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
  • Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
