Building a team starts with valuing the team. We hire the best of the best to ensure you’re working with people you can constantly learn from. You’re trusted to get your work done your way while testing the limits of what’s possible and what’s next. We work hard to provide a culture where everyone feels supported, and our employees feel it—their votes helped us become one of Newsweek's Top 100 Global Most Loved Workplaces in 2023.
We also value sports. Not just because of the big wins and highlight-worthy plays, but because of the lasting impact sports can have: the lifelong lessons in teamwork and dedication; the influence of inspiring mentors; the priceless opportunities to play at the next level. Sports can change lives—that’s what we value.
Our team helps the world see sports differently through products that make it easier to capture video, analyze data, share highlights and do a lot more.

Your Role
We’re looking for a Software Engineer II to join our Hardware team and concentrate on building end-to-end capabilities for Hudl Focus. These cameras are autonomous, using edge AI to automatically track the action and upload directly to the cloud, giving our customers seamless access to video and insights.
As a Software Engineer on this team, you’ll:
- Collaborate. You’ll work closely with teammates from Engineering, Quality, Design, Product and Scrum to enhance and support Hudl’s hardware products. By combining your full-stack web/mobile skills with computer vision and video, you’ll help ship cutting-edge features.
- Develop and deliver. You’ll have the autonomy to make meaningful improvements across the entire product—from on-camera support software, to backend systems and mobile apps. We empower our teams to take ownership of the whole user experience to support our coaches and athletes.
- Expand your expertise while learning new technologies. As you apply your current skills to improve our products from day one, you’ll continue to grow your technical knowledge and explore new domains
For this role, we're currently considering candidates who live within a commuting distance of our offices in Den Bosch. But with our flexible work policy, there aren't any current requirements for the number of days you come to the office.
Must-Haves
- Experience writing code for mature, full-stack web applications. You’ve spent 3+ years building across many levels of a web application, from client-side code down to the database.
- A teammate. You know building excellent software is a team effort and you’re willing to collaborate with others to get to the best outcome—whether that means providing input in technical discussions, pitching in when a teammate needs a hand, or providing quality feedback in code review.
- Curious. You’ve picked up new technologies and domains on the job—working across myriad layers of the stack energizes you.
- Adaptable. You’re used to working with many possible implementation options and know how to identify the one that pragmatically balances quality, consistency and delivering immediate customer value.
Nice-to-Haves
- Professional background in C#, React, MongoDB and/or AWS. Adjacent languages, frameworks and services used at scale are relevant experiences, but a direct background in our core technologies is a plus.
- Mobile development know-how. Hudl is heavily invested in React Native to bring our camera management experience to iOS and Android with a single codebase. Experience with React Native or mobile development (native iOS or Android) would be an asset in this role.
- Experience working with hybrid teams. Our Engineering team is spread across the Netherlands and the U.S. with a combination of people working in the office and remotely. A background working with global teams would help you adapt quicker to our structure.
Our Role
- Champion work-life harmony. We’ll give you the flexibility you need in your work life (e.g., flexible vacation time above any required statutory leave, company-wide holidays and timeout (meeting-free) days, remote work options and more) so you can enjoy your personal life too.
- Guarantee autonomy. We have an open, honest culture and we trust our people from day one. Your team will support you, but you’ll own your work and have the agency to try new ideas.
- Encourage career growth. We’re lifelong learners who encourage professional development. We’ll give you tons of resources and opportunities to keep growing.
- Provide an environment to help you succeed. We've invested in our offices, designing incredible spaces with our employees in mind. But whether you’re at the office or working remotely, we’ll provide you the tech you need to do your best work.
- Support your wellbeing. Depending on location, we offer medical and retirement benefits for employees—but no matter where you’re located, we have resources like our Employee Assistance Program and employee resource groups to support your mental health.
Compensation
The base salary range for this role is displayed below. Where a candidate is placed within this base salary range is determined by experience, skills, education and training required for the job as well as our internal pay equity.
Inclusion at Hudl
Hudl is an equal opportunity employer. Through our actions, behaviors and attitude, we’ll create an environment where everyone, no matter their differences, feels like they belong.
We offer resources to ensure our employees feel safe bringing their authentic selves to work, including employee resource groups and communities. But we recognize there’s ongoing work to be done, which is why we track our efforts and commitments in annual inclusion reports.
We also know imposter syndrome is real and the confidence gap can get in the way of meeting spectacular candidates. Please don’t hesitate to apply—we’d love to hear from you.
