Are We Meant To Be?
Are you a grad student or recent college graduate who always received praise from professors for their term papers and writing?
Do you know how to research and structure a wealth of scattered information into a coherent, organized article from top to bottom?
Do you have a passion for creative ledes and loathe the passive voice?
Can you write in a casual, conversational tone while still showing authority with credible sourcing?
HomeLight seeks to build its pool of writing talent to craft data-driven feature length posts (think of them like mini instruction manuals you’d actually enjoy reading!!) for our Seller’s Resource Center.
Our articles are all about the home-selling journey, so you could get assignments about prepping your home for sale to closing the deal and every step in between.
We’re looking specifically for writers who have a proven ability to construct longform, creative nonfiction essays or guides for the web. Familiarity with real estate is a plus but not a must.
Our articles range between 1,000-1,500 words and writers start at a $250 flat fee.
To help us build amazing resources for homeowners, please send us:
- Your resume and portfolio at least 2 writing samples, with one that is some sort of feature-length, service style guide OR a well-researched, non-fiction essay
Do not apply if:
- You’re not willing to make substantial edits on your first articles to get the hang of our expectations and style
- You don’t have experience conducting web research or are not willing to put in the time
Our top freelancers enjoy the peace of mind of stable, consistent work and flexible deadlines to get each draft in tip-top shape. This is a contracted position with the potential to take on as much work as you like. Writers can be based anywhere in the U.S.
