You’re a seasoned technical SEO expert who’s passionate about achieving page one rankings and prevailing over the competition when it comes to organic search. You provide value to maintaining a company’s foundational SEO health when it comes to the content, reputation, and technical aspects of the site and are adept at tracking changes and surfacing errors on dozens of SEO variables. 

You’re skilled at breaking down SEO into plain language and actionable insights your team can use. You have a proven track record of providing data-backed SEO recommendations that resulted in measurable growth or rankings improvements in previous roles.

What You’ll Do Here 

  • Perform research and analysis, develop and regularly produce basic reports, conduct content and technical audits, and perform SEO forecasting on topical campaigns to size the potential impact on HomeLight’s business. 
  • Swiftly diagnose and report on any SEO issues and algorithmic changes to provide short and long-term recommendations to the broader team.
  • Create a recurring reporting system for core web vitals including mobile friendliness, safe browsing, content accessibility, largest contentful paint, first input delay, and cumulative layout shift.
  • Research, identify, and generate actionable insights from data that inform HomeLight’s SEO from sources including but not limited to Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Trends, Google Ads Keyword Planner and more with limited oversight and help from others. 
  • Contribute significantly to technical site audits using a suite of tools including but not limited to Screaming Frog, Botify, Google Lighthouse, Ahrefs, Moz, and SEMRush.
  • Perform content gap analyses to support the editorial team.
  • Develop and create reporting of intermediate to advanced complexity including, but not limited to, Google Data Studio, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint, delivered at different cadences (bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually).
  • Take proactive accountability for anomalies and surfacing opportunities through monitoring our SEO program’s progress regularly for performance and threats, escalating wins, losses, and opportunities to your team.
  • Communicate effectively on a cross-functional growth team including SEO, Content, Paid Search, Public Relations, and more.
  • Contribute to the growth team through sharing news bites, participating in our Slack channels, engaging during vendor meetings to learn new features and ask probing questions, and supporting internal projects (like task forces).

What You Bring

  • 5-10 years SEO experience with additional experience in or intermediate exposure to content strategy 
  • A strong sense of self-governing and self-organization with little need for supervision, but the courage to ask for help and admit when you don’t know something and seek help early.
  • Ability to communicate data analyses and insights visually in PowerPoint / Google Suite
  • Experience with SQL
  • Some familiarity with with and/or understanding of code (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Intermediate to expert-level Microsoft Excel skills including but not limited to skillful use of VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
  • Intermediate to expert-level experience using web analytics platforms such as Google Analytics
