Role Overview

The Student Experience Coordinator will expand our ability to connect with Jewish students, support their engagement, and create spaces that enhance their campus experience. With strong interpersonal skills and an inclusive mindset, the Coordinator will foster belonging, recognizing that each student's Jewish journey is unique. Focused on reaching unengaged students, the Coordinator will provide holistic support through Tanger Hillel and partner resources. By building authentic relationships and connecting students with staff and peers, they will help cultivate a vibrant Jewish community. Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Coordinator will work across two campuses in Brooklyn.

What You’ll Do

    • Engage with Students: Meet students across campus, building authentic relationships and connecting them to friends, community, and meaningful experiences.
    • Translate Ideas into Action: Utilize your network of students and understanding of Tanger Hillel's resources to help students take ownership of projects and create opportunities for growth.
    • Recruit for Immersive Programs: Lead recruitment for cohort learning and immersive experiences like Birthright and alternative breaks.
    • Expand Communication Reach: Maintain and grow communication channels, producing the weekly community newsletter, managing social media platforms, and sharing information with relevant groups.
    • Empower Emerging Leaders: Identify and mentor student leaders, providing guidance and opportunities for involvement and growth within the community.
    • Support Student Well-Being: Provide resources, referrals, and opportunities that support biological, psychological, spiritual, and social well-being through one-on-one interactions and group settings.

What You’ve Accomplished

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 0-3 years of relevant professional experience. Experience in Jewish Studies, Experiential Education, Social Work, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in grassroots community organizing, Hillel, youth movements, camping, or experiential Jewish education is a plus.
