Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled SEO & SEM Manager who is excited to join a growing startup and lead our SEO and SEM strategy for Gradle.com. If you are thrilled to strategize and execute SEO/SEM efforts and to track and optimize the improvements this is a great fit for you! This is a greenfield opportunity that allows for the creative use of industry best practices and for you to be able to map out the best path forward for Gradle to capitalize on organic and paid traffic.

This is a strong startup environment and you need to be excited to build processes from scratch as the sole owner of these efforts. The role will require a balance of strategic and on-the-ground tactical work to achieve consistent results and you should be able to communicate performance and challenges to stakeholders. 

We would like someone who is proactive in monitoring the programs they are leading and be able to make adjustments as needed. In addition to traditional SEO tasks listed below, this role will support efforts for Paid Search + Paid Social campaigns for Google Ad, Linkedin, Facebook and Twitter.

Responsibilities

SEO

  • Measure the success of our SEO content, its growth and impact on demand generation
  • Own and leverage our SEO technology stack
  • Provide SEO insights and reporting to key marketing and sales stakeholders
  • Lead content ideation, project management  and optimization in relation to SEO
  • Continuously optimize our website to rank highly in SERPs for strategic keyword topics
  • Actively conduct keyword research to fill in content and competitor gaps

SEM (Paid Search + Paid Social)

  • Campaign creation and optimization of ongoing ad platforms such as Google Ads, Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter
  • Provide campaign and monthly reporting of ad performance
  • Leverage A/B testing of ad creative and audience targeting to improve ad KPI’s 
  • Optimize landing page performance for conversion rate improvements

Minimum qualifications

  • 5+  years of SEO and SEM experience
  • Experience reporting on Keyword, SEO and Paid Ad performance 
  • Experience optimizing on-and-off page SEO
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Schema Markup, and Metadata
  • Experience with Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Google Ad, Linkedin and Facebook
  • Working proficiency and communication skills in written and verbal English

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience leveraging SEMrush, Ubersuggest, or similar SEO tools
  • Experience editing and managing content creation for SEO in the tech industry
  • Experience bridging multiple websites under a singular brand, ideally in an open source and enterprise environment via SEO content
  • Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with effective communication skills
  • Interest and ability to learn in a scaling startup environment
