  • Create a zero-incident safety culture for our associates as well as contractors and ensure compliance to all Enviva Safe Work Practices
  • Implement engineering and administrative controls at all port facilities to prevent and mitigate process safety hazards associated with combustible dust
  • Ensure the efficient receipt and storage of product as well as ship-loading consistent with budgetary expectations
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes using data-based analysis and lean principles 
  • Ensure integrity of quality testing of product, from both plant facilities and third parties, upon receipt and subsequent reporting Monitor and manage quality characteristics of product in storage as well as during ship loading 
  • Plan and coordinate maintenance activities with internal engineering resources and 3rd party contractors to minimize disruption to operations 
  • Implement and maintain terminal level processes, procedures and standards in compliance with regulatory permits as well as corporate safety policies 
  • Participate in cross functional teams to address voice of the customer considerations 
  • Serve as facility representative related to commercial, regulatory, development efforts and others as required 
  • Interface with NGOs and the public as appropriate
  • Evaluate financial reports to confirm accuracy and identify opportunities to improve results 
  • Prepare and present operational reports and key performance indicators to executive leadership
  • Direct development of long-range capital plans for port operations
  • Participate as operational owner and subject matter export on logistics and port operations for the Company’s development of new plants and ports 


  • BS degree in management, engineering, or closely related field 
  • 5-7+ years of management experience in an industrial setting 
  • Experience in an industry involving handling of hazardous materials. Experience with combustible dusts is preferred
  • Experience in the marine, bulk materials handling industry is preferred 
  • Experience with multi-site management is preferred
    - Strong mechanical experience preferred 
    - Experience with 3PL/contracted/organized labor 
    - Excellent oral and written communication skills 
    - Proficient with Microsoft Suite as well as other applications 
    - Must be able to analyze financial and cost data and develop conclusions and recommendations. 
    - Ability to work independently with limited supervision 
    - Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines 
    - Ability to work safely and direct the maintenance department to work safely, with an emphasis on following procedures and best management practices 
    - Must be a problem solver with the ability to find resolutions
