The Opportunity:
We are searching for a Senior Front End Engineer to join our starters team, which focuses on developing fully functional e-commerce Next.js-based web stores. Our codebase is used as a reference and a "golden standard" by our customers' engineering teams who modify and expand it into their own custom solutions. We focus on flawless performance that translates into an excellent Lighthouse score, adherence to best engineering practices and coding conventions, scalability, and developer experience (our code is used by others!).
Your Mission:
- Use the latest version of Next.js to build the front-end part of fully functional web stores
- Collaborate with the product team continuously find ways to improve the developer experience, both for yourself and our customers
- Maintain high standards of code quality
- Keep the application well-tested, self-documenting, and stable
- Maintain projects with the latest engineering practices and ecosystem trends
- Work cross-functionally with technical writers keep the public documentation up-to-date
What you need to succeed:
- Thorough knowledge of TypeScript/JavaScript, React, and Next.js
- Thorough understanding of CSS, SASS, and web design
- Experience with RESTful and GraphQL APIs
- Experience writing maintainable and adaptable frontend code
- The will to help to maintain the foundation of any JavaScript/TypeScript project: library updates, JavaScript build tools (webpack and babel), etc.
