Come join the Views Squad to build and optimize a set of tier 1 services that are at the heart of ClickUp’s all-in-one productivity platform! The Views Squad owns the core feature ClickUp, viewing, sorting, filtering your tasks. This highly visible product area needs to be performant and reliable. We are looking for passionate engineers with exceptional critical thinking skills and technical expertise to help maintain, develop, and scale high-throughput services to support the company's accelerated growth. The ideal candidate will be excited by the prospect of architecting reliable and highly performant distributed systems, has a knack for debugging and writing complex code, and enjoys the challenge of building and maintaining a platform that every team in the company relies on. Our key technologies include Typescript, Postgres, Kafka, and NestJS running on EKS in AWS. If this sounds appealing to you, you’d be an excellent addition to our team!
 

Role:

  • Build features and systems with attention to detail and performance.
  • Own end-to-end development, from conception to production.
  • Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver a world-class product.
  • Identify and implement improvements to our existing systems.
  • Help establish a fun, fulfilling, world-class engineering culture.
  • Engineer not only solutions but also tools to understand the problem.
 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent major.
  • 5+ years of experience engineering performant and high-throughput systems (ideally on Node.js in Typescript).
  • You are exceptionally productive.
  • You have a track record of building performant, high-throughput systems.
  • You have experience writing and debugging complex sql queries at scale.
  • You have experience developing event based systems.
  • You have experience with AWS (ideally EKS).
  • You are an empathetic communicator and coworker.
  • You are able to keep up in a fast paced environment and working with a team building multiple projects in parallel.
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity and have consistently delivered projects with little direction.
  • You are product-minded and have a good intuition on what a great user experience looks like.

Preferred:

  • Experience building large-scale SaaS platforms supporting millions of users.
  • Experience building performant services with NestJS.
  • Experience with micro-services and event-driven architecture.
  • Experience with graphQL.
  • Expertise with technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and PostgreSQL.
