Clickup is looking for a Revenue Accounting Director to help us build and scale our revenue and billing functions. Reporting to the Controller, this newly created role will have responsibilities that span across our global revenue function. Clickup is looking for an accounting leader that is excited about being part of building and scaling global quote-to-cash infrastructure to meet the demands of incredible scales we move towards building for public company readiness.

The Role

  • Develop and improve revenue recognition methodology, processes and procedures and ensure revenue recognition is in accordance with company policy and ASC606
  • Fully implement ASC606, including determine SSP, implement allocations in Netsuite ARM, etc.
  • Lead and act as the primary resource for managing the Revenue, Billing and AR teams and own the revenue recognition process
  • Partner with Data and Rev Ops teams to capture and report key business metrics
  • Conduct technical accounting research and document findings in audit ready technical memos with minimal guidance
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation that supports the order-to-cash process, and implementation of billing/revenue recognition software
  • Efficiently lead, manage and streamline month-end and quarter end close, including reconciliations, fluctuation analysis and other reporting requirements
  • Support all external audits and work closely with auditors to drive conclusions on complex revenue accounting issues
  • Own and support all accounting areas that are directly impacted by revenue such as A/R, commissions accounting, sales tax, etc.
  • Ensure the Company’s commissions accounting results are accurate and in compliance with ASC 340 and our internal accounting policies
  • Develop an understanding and suggest and implement improvements to business transaction and accounting flow
  • Work with Sales, Legal, FP&A, and other departments to evaluate the impact of contracts for revenue recognition
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, and our product teams to ensure the accuracy of the regulatory reports and related financial statement presentation
  • Support various aspects of the regulatory process as it expands into new jurisdictions.
  • Assist on ad hoc projects and analyses as needed
  • Participate in developing and maintaining strong internal controls. Assist with key controls implementation (including drafting narrative/RCM/Flowchart) 
  • Assist with indirect tax compliance requirements, including GST, VAT, US sales & use tax, and digital services tax. 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting; Masters and/or CPA is a plus
  • 10+ years of accounting experience, with a combination of public accounting and industry preferred.
  • Prior revenue experience and strong knowledge of ASC 606 is required.
  • Experience with NetSuite (or other ERP) & Salesforce
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills – pivot tables, complex formulas, etc.
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to take the initiative, work flexibly, and set priorities with minimal direct supervision.
  • Systems implementation experience is a plus, including RevPro, Netsuite ARM, etc.
  • Great communication skills, both written and verbal and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

 

Salary Range: $190,000- $233,500 (base pay)
