A Construction Maintenance Labourer job is available for City of Fort Park & Recreation Department in our Planning and Resource Management Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing general park maintenance duties throughout the City's park system.
The Construction Maintenance Labourer job responsibilities include:
Small Capital Construction – assist in construction of Capital Improvement, to include but not limited to installation of concrete walks, slabs or foundations (forming steel, finishing) and typical park furnishings.
Builds complicated forms for repair of concrete bridge abutments, columns, slabs, concrete finishing, and installing new playgrounds.
Participates in setting rails and forms and tying structural steel for concrete projects.
Directs pouring, spades freshly poured concrete and screens surface level with rails or forms.
Assist in electrical repairs and preparing assigned facility or building for special events.
Perform roofing work in the construction, alteration, repair or maintenance of all types of roofs.
Weld for the construction of building, gates, and related devices
Repair of existing playground structures including ordering materials necessary to complete work, repair and/or replacement of existing site amenities (i.e. Picnic tables, benches, trash cans, grills, etc.).
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Two (2) years responsible experience in the construction industry or park maintenance
Possess a Valid Driver's License
Must pass background check, physical, and drug test
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with concrete work and finishing, fence repair, setting pavers welding, heavy equipment operation, and carpentry work.
Conditions of Employment
