Pay Range: $19.85 - $24.81/hr.

A Commercial Roofer job is available with the City of Fort Worth Property Management Department, Facilities Division. The Property Management Department – Facilities Division maintains City owned buildings, including Fire and Police stations, Community Centers, Libraries and various other City buildings.
- Shift hours are 7 am – 5:30 pm, Monday – Thursday. Schedule may change due to business needs. Some overtime may be required.
- This position travels to jobsites throughout the City of Fort Worth
The Commercial Roofer job responsibilities include:
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on commercial roofs
- Perform roof inspections and make needed repairs
- Order supplies and maintain appropriate records
- Assist other trades as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diplomas or GED
- 2 years roofing experience in the repair and maintenance of commercial roofs
- Valid Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in repairs and maintenance of large (over 10,000 sq) commercial building roofs
- Knowledge of and experience in installation and repair of torch down systems, TPO systems, wood shingles, clay tile roofs and composite shingle roofs desired.
- Experience in metal fabrication and installation of gutters and downspouts desired.
Working Conditions
Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.
Physical Demand
Heavy Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects
Conditions of Employment
Candidates who do not meet the Education requirement, may be considered if they have more relevant work experience than the position requires.
