A Traffic Systems Technician II job is available with The City of Fort Worth Transportation and Public Works Department with the Traffic Management Division. The responsibilities of this position are installation, maintenance and repair of traffic control systems, specifically, street lights. Candidates should have the ability to operate various specialized tools and equipment related to traffic control system maintenance. The successful candidate will be required to work outside, nights and weekends for special events or emergency call-back, and at heights of at least 30’.
The Traffic Systems Technician IIjob responsibilities include:
Installs, maintains and repairs electronic and traffic signal equipment.
Installs streetlights and traffic signal circuits. Maintains and repairs equipment related to streetlights and traffic signals.
Tests, diagnoses and maintains various electronic equipment related to traffic signals and communications.
High School diploma/GED with additional specialized training in electronic systems, street light systems, traffic signal systems and/or electrical wiring.
Three (3) years of increasingly responsible electronic and/or electrical experience in the installation, repair and maintenance of street light, traffic signal, or electrical systems.
Valid Texas Class “C” Driver’s License.
Possession of a Class B CDL Driver License or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire.
An Associate Degree in Electronics or a related field.
Specialized licenses or certifications such as Apprentice or Journeyman Electrical Licenses, Bucket Truck, Derrick Digger, IMSA or other standard industry certifications.
Candidates with computer software experience such as Microsoft Office
