Multiple Medical Technician jobs are available with the City of Fort Worth Fire Department. This is an open continuous announcement in support of COVID-19 operations.
Medical Technicians will be assigned to facilities throughout the City of Fort Worth and Tarrant County in support of COVID-19 operations and will be temporarily appointed (not to exceed 10-months) and expected to maintain a work schedule of a minimum of 12 hours a week with the opportunity of working up to 40 hours per week in support of these facilities.
The Medical Technician job responsibilities include:
Successfully completes all required training for position.
Completes registration materials as required.
Provides vaccination injections per protocol.
Provides education as necessary.
Provides proper documentation as required.
Administers first aid and emergency medical technologies.
Maintains and tests emergency equipment.
Cleans and maintains vaccination area.
May be required to operate a motor vehicle.
Operates a computer utilizing various software packages and electronic mail.
May be required to stand for long periods of time.
On occasion, may be expected to work outdoors.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED.
Unrestricted license or certification in EMS (Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic), Nursing and/or other acceptable certification in the State of Texas.
Valid Texas Driver’s License.
Knowledge of medical protocols and understanding of patient privacy rights (HIPPA).
Experience in patient assessment and documentation.
Experience in patient intra-muscular injection.
Skilled in application of first aid and resuscitation techniques
Conditions of Employment
Candidates who do not meet the Education requirement, may be considered if they have more relevant work experience than the position requires. Those selected for employment will be required to pass Pre-Employment checks depending on the position requirements.
