As the Team Lead, Data Engineering, you will be leading Chatham’s data platform evolution. You will create strategies and lead the creation of Data Lake and Data Warehouse platforms along with the ETL processes that feed these new systems. You will lead implementation and oversee a team that will enable Chatham to create new insights for our customers as their data volumes continue to grow. This role will partner with our engineering leads and solutions architects to enable the creation of new analytical processing and customer dashboard and will partner with our Head of Data Governance to ensure that our solutions always consider the sanctity of customer data. In this role you will: 

  • Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of ETL processes, ensuring the efficient extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide array of sources into our data systems. 
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of a scalable Data Lake and Data Warehouse architecture to support enterprise-wide analytics and business intelligence solutions. 
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver systems that facilitate data-driven decision-making. 
  • Lead the implementation of data governance and quality standards to ensure accuracy, completeness, and security of data. 
  • Manage and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. 
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in data technology; evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to enhance the data infrastructure. 
  • Ensure the reliability and performance of data systems through robust testing, monitoring, and maintenance procedures. 
  • Develop and manage the data engineering budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with organizational goals.

Contributors to your success:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 
  • Proven experience in data engineering, including hands-on experience with ETL processes, data modeling, and data warehousing. 
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, experience with relational databases, and NoSQL databases. 
  • Experience with cloud data services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and understanding of different data storage solutions. 
  • Experience with Data Warehousing tools like Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or Databricks. 
  • Familiarity with data integration tools like FiveTran, Talend, Informatica 
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage a technical team, including hiring, training, and performance management. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills  
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of working effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Knowledge of data security practices, data governance, and compliance 
  • Familiarity with tools such as Collibra, Alation, or Informatica Axon for robust data governance and compliance. 
  • Experience with data quality tools such as Great Expectations or dbt. 
  • Experience in deploying machine learning models in production environments.
