The Role:

Cerebral is seeking an experienced Revenue Cycle Senior Manager to oversee the revenue cycle process, ensuring timely and compliant collections, and building strong insurance-centric collections. They will oversee insurance billing/coding/collections, and ensure compliance and billing integrity throughout all aspects of the revenue cycle process. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with the ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment early in the standardization process. Effective leadership will encompass overseeing the day-to-day operations of your team while ensuring that core processes increase efficiency and meet the goals of Cerebral. This role can be Remote, or can work from our offices in San Francisco, CA or Dallas, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee entire revenue cycle process from claims processing, billing and accounts receivable, to denials and resolution
  • Analyze claim denials for coding or payor policy updates and make corrections as needed
  • Review coding or documentation from provider that may need to be updated to release for billing
  • Generate appeals or reconsideration forms on denied claims utilizing web portals or payor specific forms
  • Help develop claim edits that will help increase cash flow and create clean claims
  • Research and provide timely response on patient, insurance and physician inquiries
  • Run denial and accounts receivable reports to help identify trends
  • Coordinate with internal departments, escalate and resolve payment issues
  • Communicate with clients and care coordination team regarding billing issues, when requested
  • Maintain legal compliance with billing policies and procedures
  • Work closely with finance team
  • Hire, build and train revenue cycle team out as needed
  • Implementation of internal controls and processes to support growth at scale

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years' experience in Revenue Cycle, including experience managing a team of managers/individual contributors
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, Certified Professional Coder certification a plus
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into revenue cycle department requirements
  • Proficient with Excel, and experience with G-Suite
  • Deep knowledge of all facets of the billing and revenue cycle process: coding (CPT and ICD-10), documentation requirements, billing submission processes, and accounts receivable management processes
  • Outstanding communication and organization skills
  • Strong believer in Cerebral’s brand vision and values
