We have an opportunity to join the Alliance as a Grant Program Specialist in the Community Grants Department.  The Community Grants department aligns the Alliance’s community investments with our strategic priorities and the needs of our local communities. We also help realize the Alliance's vision of healthy people, healthy communities by making Medi-Cal Capacity Grant Program funding available to the provider network and local organizations that serve a high volume of Medi-Cal members.

 

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Reporting to the Grant Program Manager, this position:

  • Assists with administration of the Alliance’s grant program
  • Responds to inquiries about the grant program
  • Conducts research and analysis on relevant business and health care information to support the grant program and strategic development of funding opportunities
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE 

 

  • Familiarity with grant writing, seeking, and management processes, including creating and maintaining grant files.
  • Strong organizational skills and proficiency with grant management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent proofreading and error-spotting abilities, capable of developing and organizing templates and reports.
  • Strong data analysis skills, able to interpret data, define issues, and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to respond to inquiries and communicate with grantees and stakeholders.
  • Nimble and flexible in team environments, capable of coordinating multiple projects and achieving goals within timelines.

  • Knowledge of:
    • Thorough knowledge of and proficiency in the use of Windows based PC system and Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Professional
    • Working knowledge of the principles and practices of research, analysis, and reporting methods
    • Working knowledge of the principles and practices of customer service
    • Some knowledge of grant writing/making processes
  • Ability to:
    • Identify and define issues, interpret data, develop options, and make recommendations for action
    • Synthesize and interpret a wide range of information
    • Interpret and apply policies, standards, and guidelines
    • Analyze and interpret legal and contractual language
    • Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, organize work, and achieve goals and timelines
    • Create and edit documents, templates, correspondence, reports, and other program documents
  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, Public Health or a related field and
    • One year of program administration experience which included some responsibility for grants or contracts administration or management (a Master’s degree may substitute for the required experience); or an equivalent combination of education and work experience may be qualifying

 

OTHER INFORMATION

  • We are in a hybrid work environment and we anticipate that the interview process will take place remotely via Microsoft Teams.
  • While some staff may work full telecommuting schedules, attendance at quarterly company-wide events or department meetings will be expected.
  • In-office or in-community presence may be required for some positions and is dependent on business need. Details about this can be reviewed during the interview process.

 

The full compensation range for this position is listed by location below. 

The actual compensation for this role will be determined by our compensation philosophy, analysis of the selected candidate's qualifications (direct or transferrable experience related to the position, education or training), as well as other factors (internal equity, market factors, and geographic location).
