We have an opportunity to join the Alliance as the Communications Content Specialist in the Communications Department. 



Reporting to the Media and Content Manager, this position: 

  • Develops, writes, and edits content for internal and external communications and assists with media relations
  • Performs communications research and planning and assists with providing oversight and support of Communications Department activities



We are brand champions, working collaboratively to create relevant, effective and clear communications to support operational goals and promote understanding of our services for the populations we serve.

The Communications Department provides expertise and enterprise-wide support for all internal and external communications, talking points and messaging, media outreach, design and branding, copywriting, project communications support, outreach materials, company-wide presentations, and photos and videos.



Creatively develops fresh, compelling, and innovative content. Brings cultural and linguistic awareness when translating text from English to Spanish

  • Knowledge of:
    • Tools and techniques of copywriting for publication
    • Methods of utilizing traditional media, internet, social media, and alternative media to increase public awareness of the organization and promote organizational objectives
  • Ability to:
    • Compose content and proofread and edit high profile documents in a variety of media formats
    • Interpret and synthesize a wide range of information from a variety of sources and translate complex information and concepts into clear, succinct copy
    • Plan and manage multiple projects, effectively prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines, and respond to changing priorities
  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications or a related field and a minimum of five years of experience creating, writing, editing, and publishing content in a business environment (a Master’s degree may substitute for two years of the required experience); or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be qualifying



  • While this position is connected to one of our Alliance offices, we are in hybrid remote/in-office work environment right now and we anticipate that the interview process will take place remotely.
  • Our Alliance office locations have officially re-opened as of May 2, 2022 and while some employees may work in full-time telecommute schedules, attendance at quarterly company-wide events or department meetings will be expected.
  • Based on the nature of work, this position may require onsite presence, which is dependent on business need. Details about this can be reviewed during the interview process.


The full compensation range for this position is listed by location below. 

The actual compensation for this role will be determined by our compensation philosophy, analysis of the selected candidate's qualifications (direct or transferrable experience related to the position, education or training), as well as other factors (internal equity, market factors, and geographic location).
