The Role You’ll Play:
The events intern will learn the ropes in the four main areas of events planning: speaker recruitment, sponsorship sales, attendee marketing and event operations. Each week you’ll work with a different CB Insights Events Team member on discrete tasks such as: researching potential speakers for an upcoming conference, creating lists of potential event sponsors, analyzing marketing data for trends and opportunities, handling tasks associated with our event venues and logistics.
About the Events Team:
The events team at CB Insights consists of seven team members who are focused on producing three high quality professional conferences each year. These events are 2-3 day experiences that our customers attend in order to hear strategies and insights from (primarily) startup company founders in fintech and healthcare, or in our horizontal strategy and innovation event.
We are a diverse team that gets excited about the great learning and networking experiences we create for our customers, and about the value we create for CB Insights.
Your Main Tasks:
You’ll be assigned discrete tasks that will help you learn all aspects of the events business, from sales, to marketing, content and operations.
- What you bring to the table
- We’re looking for someone who has an interest either in events, or in sales, marketing or content creation. You don’t have to be a specialist, just curious, eager to learn, embody the 4Hs and have basic research, writing and software skills.
- GPA of 3.0 or above
- Prior job or internship experience
- Good writing skills
You’ll be successful here if you are curious, a good writer, good at multi-tasking, and happy to explore a variety of different areas associated with the creation of a successful business-to-business event.
