Who You Are

As the Head of Communications, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our company's communication strategy. You will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive communication plans to effectively convey our scientific advancements, corporate initiatives, culture, and brand messages to various stakeholders, including patients, investors, employees, media, healthcare professionals, and the broader public.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Communication Planning: Develop and execute a strategic communication plan aligned with BridgeBio’s company goals, ensuring consistency in messaging across all platforms and channels.  
  • Content Development: Oversee and participate in the creation and release of compelling content, including press releases, articles, blog posts, videos, and social media posts, that effectively communicates the company’s scientific advancements, milestones, and corporate values across patients, healthcare professionals, investors, media, prospective employees, and other relevant audiences. 
  • Media Relations: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key media outlets, journalists and industry influencers to secure positive coverage and manage crisis communications effectively. 
  • Internal Communication: Coordinate internal communication efforts to ensure alignment, engagement, and understanding of BridgeBio objectives, culture, and initiatives among employees at all levels. 
  • Investor Relations Support: Collaborate with the investor relations team to develop communication materials, including press releases, presentations, and annual reports, to effectively communicate financial performance and corporate updates to investors and analysts.  
  • Brand Management: Uphold and enhance BridgeBio’s brand reputation through strategic storytelling, thought leadership initiatives, and proactive reputation management.  
  • Digital and Social Media Strategy: Develop and implement digital and social media strategies to increase brand visibility, engage target audiences, and drive positive sentiment.  
  • Executive Communication Support: Provide communication support to senior executives, including speechwriting, media training, and preparation for public appearances and interviews.  
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including commercial, marketing, regulatory affairs, legal, and research and development, to ensure alignment and integration of communication efforts.  
  • Measurement and Analysis: Monitor, measure and analyze the effectiveness of communication strategies and tactics, leveraging data and insights to continually optimize performance and ROI.  
  • Development and Lead: Develop, coach and retain a high-performing communications team.

Education, Experience & Skills Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or communications, public relations, journalism, or related field; advanced degree preferred. 
  • Proven experience 10+ years in communications leadership roles within the biotech, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industry.  
  • Strong understanding of scientific and medical concepts, with the ability to translate complex information in compelling narratives for diverse audiences.  
  • Demonstrated track record of success in media relations, crisis communications, and reputation management. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute integrated communication plans that drive business objectives.
  • Experience managing digital and social media platforms, including content creation and community management.  
  • Experience working as an advisor and counselor to senior leaders and executives.
  • Strong, demonstrated interest in diversity, equity and inclusion practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.  
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.  
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite and relevant communication and analytics tools.  
  • This position is based in the San Francisco Bay Area with offices in San Francisco and Palo Alto
  • Expected travel: approximately 10%

At BridgeBio, we strive to provide a market-competitive total rewards package, including base pay, an annual performance bonus, company equity, and generous health benefits. Below is the anticipated salary range for candidates for this role who will work in California. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience within the industry, educational background, location of residence and performance during the interview process. BridgeBio is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions based in other states.
