Instructor Role

Skills & Requirements

  • At least 4-5 years of SUBJECT MATTER experience (or equivalent)
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Background in technologies associated with selected program
  • A positive attitude
  • Ability to deliver lesson plans provided by 2U
  • Share your own professional experiences and industry insight with the students

What You Will Do:

  • Lead online lectures following a detailed lesson plan that includes an active discussion environment and project-based learning
  • Bring the learning experience to life by building community and enhancing relevance by drawing on your own industry experience
  • Translate complex subject matter in a clear and concise manner for a diverse range of learners or skill levels
  • Provide support and encouragement to students as they go through a life-changing experience
  • Create an engaging, positive, and inclusive learning environment for our students
  • Increase participant engagement using different facilitation tactics
  • Guide large and small groups of learners in an empathetic manner
  • Amplify student satisfaction by creating a positive classroom culture
  • Communicating timely with students and leveraging effective interventions by sharing resources

Hourly salary only: The anticipated hourly salary for this role is ($40 USD/hr). Note: The final compensation for this position may consider factors including the geographic location where the work is performed (candidate’s assigned office) and prior work experience of the candidate


Teaching Assistant Role

Skills & Requirements

  • At least 6 months of experience( Bootcamp attendance/graduation counts toward this requirement)
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, but not required
  • Some familiarity with most or all of the technologies associated with selected program

What You Will Do:

  • Create an engaging, positive, and inclusive learning environment for our students
  • Explain complex topics to individuals with both a technical and non-technical background
  • Ensure you are bringing the learning experience to life, building community and enhancing relevance through drawing on your own industry experience
  • Infuse empathy, support, encouragement, and fun into the students' learning progression
  • Assist the instructor with class time management 
  • Observe the class during code activities and projects to assist students (via Zoom)
  • Research and answer student questions 
  • Grade homework and group project assignments when applicable 
 
Hourly salary only: The anticipated hourly salary for this role is ($20USD/hr). Note: The final compensation for this position may consider factors including the geographic location where the work is performed (candidate’s assigned office) and prior work experience of the candidate  

Logistics:

  • 24-week program (this is a part-time commitment)
  • Mon/Wed/Thu OR Mon/Tue/Thu schedule
  • Weekday Classes: 5:45 - 10pm (includes office hours and break) *Some Universities have unique hours*
  • Must have a laptop, camera, at least one additional monitor, microphone / headset,  and reliable internet access.
  • Experience with Zoom video conferencing preferred.
