About the Team

The Technology Team ensures all software and products accessed by internal and external users are maintained and updated as needed. The Technology team is responsible for supporting the technology needs of our rapidly growing B Lab Global movement. Technology works closely with all departments within the organization. Technology helps define, build, and support the applications required to meet the demands of a rapidly growing global movement. The team ensures that our systems, applications, and data are kept secure, built to scale, accessible to all, and designed and engineered according to best practices and industry standards. Our Technology team members manage the technology roadmap based on defined cross-team strategies and product roadmaps to deliver tech projects and provide administrative support for the hardware and internal systems used by B Lab Global & B Lab US & Canada staff and customers. Additionally, the Technology team is responsible for administering, troubleshooting, and supporting internal systems for B Lab’s network of global partners as specified in the Global Participant agreement.

About the Opportunity

 

As an Analytics Engineer on the Data Platform team, you'll play a central role in enhancing data-driven decision-making processes for the B Impact Assessment product development team. Your responsibilities include fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making, collaborating closely with the product team, designing outcome-driven dashboards for new initiatives' success, and informing future enhancements. Leading our data leveraging efforts, you'll work with teammates to transform data into actionable insights for informed business decisions. Furthermore, you'll assume responsibility for evaluating and selecting suitable metrics and data sources to accurately measure specific factors of the B Impact Assessment, establishing a robust data structure for B Lab’s standards and performance requirements. This involves facilitating the transformation of teams to adapt existing structures for scalability and improved interoperability within the Impact Management and ESG landscape.

Core Responsibilities 

Impact Measurement and Performance Enhancement (65%)

  • Enhance the new standards development process by integrating a data-driven approach to determine optimal metrics, identifying essential data points for measurement, and collaborating with the product team to strategize on how to collect the data.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making within the product team as they design and develop features with outcome-driven dashboards to ensure the success of new initiatives and inform future enhancements. 

Data Platform Support (25%)

  • Gain comprehensive knowledge of data sources.
  • Construct new pipelines tailored to meet business requirements.
  • Guarantee smooth integration of your constructed pipelines.
  • Comprehend the significance of data quality for the business.

Innovation and Strategy (10%)

  • Explore and propose innovative solutions, technologies, and methodologies, including the potential for data productization to advance the influence of the B Corp movement through strategic partnerships.
  • Contribute to the long-term technology strategy aligned with B Lab's vision.
  • Participate in strategic discussions and provide insights to shape technology direction to foster scale and partnerships.

About You

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Data Analytics and a minimum of 1 year of experience in Data Engineering
  • Must be proficient in data analysis and transformation programming languages, including Python, SQL, and R
  • Proven ability with DataViz tools such as Tableau, Metabase, or comparable tools
  • Adeptness in querying databases such as Salesforce, PostgreSQL, AWS Athena, etc. 
  • Track record of facilitating data-driven decisions, prioritizing evidence-based approaches
  • Demonstrated proficiency in critical thinking and problem-solving across various scenarios and data sources
  • Proficient in English as English is the operational language of the organization
  • Effective project manager with the capacity to manage a projects with varying deadlines and balance competing priorities
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience with creating project plans to identify tasks, milestones, and deliverables
  • Given the cross-functional nature of the role, adeptness in communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders is essential
  • Demonstrated experience with one or more of the following business subject areas: ESG, sustainability, product, customer success, engineering, marketing, or finance
  • Have a strong drive for exploration and innate curiosity, with an eagerness to learn new technologies and enthusiastic about sharing knowledge with others
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a geographically dispersed team in a remote-first environment

The ideal candidate also:

  • Experience working in rapidly evolving business landscape with the ability to pivot and adapt
  • Be solutions-oriented with the ability to make balanced decisions
  • Be someone who is able to approach every part of their work through a lens of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • High emotional intelligence and exudes empathy, self awareness, and curiosity
  • Proficiency in languages other than English is not required but would be a plus


Compensation Details

B Lab has a compensation plan that includes:

  • A monthly salary in the range of R$14,333 - R$16,667 per month, not inclusive of the 13th salary
  • Sick & other leave in accordance with Brazilian statutory leave allowance
  • Company provided laptop

We also offer other benefits that are based on company policy and are not included in your contract and therefore are subject to change or addition as our organization works to support our staff.
