Job Title: HR Generalist

Location: This position is onsite in Irvine, CA.

Employment Type: Full-time

Pay Range: $70,000-85,000 per year based on experience, qualifications, and skillset.

 

Position Overview:

As a HR Generalist, you will play a crucial role in supporting a wide range of HR functions and initiatives, ensuring compliance with employment laws while championing our company’s values. As a key contributor to our HR department, you'll manage vital HR data, support impactful initiatives, and help create a positive, thriving work environment. Key Responsibilities:

The HR Generalist must be able to perform the following tasks:

  • Maintain and update employee files, including personal details, employment history, and compliance documentation.
  • Ensure all records are accurate and complete, adhering to company policies and legal requirements.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and submit regular HR reports and audits as required.
  • Input and manage employee data in HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and other databases.
  • Conduct periodic data audits to ensure data integrity.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and communication of HR policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance on HR policies and practices to employees and management.
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes, including the preparation and processing of relevant documentation.
  • Ensure a smooth transition for new hires and departing employees.
  • Initiate background checks for all newly hired employees.
  • Conduct exit interviews for all voluntary resignations.
  • Prepare new hire and termination packets following hiring and termination checklists.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all employee records and sensitive information.
  • Manage record retention schedules and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Provide general HR support as needed, including answering employee inquiries and assisting with HR projects.
  • Prepare disciplinary write ups by working closely with the HR Manager and VPHR.
  • Perform other HR-related tasks and special projects as assigned by the VP of HR.

Required Qualifications:

The HR Generalist must have the following experiences:

  • 3+ years of experience working in the human resources field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Organizational and conflict management skills.
  • Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Interpersonal and intrapersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply HR policies and legal regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Understanding of Labor Law and employment equity regulations.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Excellent record-keeping skills.
  • Knowledge of HR functions and best practices.
  • Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
  • Experience using an HRIS.
  • Ability to multitask in a very fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of the team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
  • HRCI or SHRM certifications.
