Role

This is a key role that will help to establish and lead the general functions of the HR department including recruiting, hiring, on/off-boarding, training, planning pay and benefits, coordinating performance reviews, managing leave, and enforcing personnel policies and practices. This role will also help grow this function with recruiting and training new staff in the department.  This role will be very hands-on in the beginning with our lean structure and over time as it expands will help manage the daily workflow of the department.

Once here you will 

  • Collaborate with leadership to understand and execute Atomic’s HR and talent strategy, focusing on current and future needs, recruiting, and retention.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for HR-related matters.
  • Own the talent acquisition process, including the expanding efforts to build the recruiting function and manage a team of recruiters.
  • Maintain a pulse on market compensation levels and trends across all relevant roles and help to communicate such information for financial planning.
  • Help resolve in handling employee conflict issues both interpersonally-related as well as policy-related, especially in potentially specialized and sensitive issues.
  • Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Create programs for onboarding training of new staff and ongoing professional development learning for existing employees.
  • Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
  • Help shape personnel-related policies and practices.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR, talent management, and employment law.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications 

  • 5+ years in HR management/People Operations with experience in a fast-scaling organization
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Ability to thoroughly screen candidates in core values of the company
  • Sociable with a demonstrated ability to network
  • Knowledge of various federal and state labor laws and regulations
  • Organized with excellent verbal and written skills, especially in distilling 
  • Strong interpersonal communication abilities with skills in conflict resolution and contract negotiations
  • Familiarity with ATS platforms (e.g. Greenhouse)
  • Exude warmth, genuineness, and concern for others
