How You Will Make an Impact:
The Transportation Manager is an interictal part of our leadership team. Transportation Manager will provide oversite to all trucking operations during their shift as well as supporting and assisting drivers, hostlers, management and support team.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Liaison between supervisor’s team and leadership such as Operations Director, Maintenance Manager, Safety Manager
- Support process and maintenance teams with troubleshooting equipment issues
- Communicate daily shift reports to Operations Director
- Being an advocate and leading by example with Health and Safety, working in a safe manner, following all safety guidelines, completing pre and post shift on equipment
- Knowledge of DOT rules
- Following through and documenting any requests made by HSE, HR, or Management
- Hold full accountability and responsibility for crew members on shift
- Document and report any injuries, property damage, equipment damage, or incidents to HSE and Plant Manager
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
- Required to stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, sit and climb or balance
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than one hundred pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Capable of working a rotating shift, 14 on 7 off rotating between days and nights
- Must be ale to tolerate conditions associated with no air conditioning or heat
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least two years of supervisory or leadership industrial experience
- At least two years supervising drivers and operations
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read and interpret documents and data
- Computer skills – inputting data, reading charts, using MS Office (Mail, Word and Excel)
- Leadership and coaching skills
- Communicate effectively with reports and upper management
- Solve problems and take initiative on safety and procedures
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Basic math skills
