Job Summary: As a Senior Director, Carbon Origination for Technology Solutions, you will join our Technical Climate Services (TCS) Origination team where you will focus on business development to expand our portfolio of CCS and BECCS projects within a broader TCS portfolio of tech-based removals and methane avoidance. You will lead efforts to originate new Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) projects across North America. This involves securing CCS and Bio-energy Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS) project proponents as clients of our offset project development, carbon finance, marketing and monetization services.
Given the nature of the partnerships, the business development function requires significant relationship building, education on carbon offsets and markets, technical guidance, and deal structuring. The individual in this role will be on the front line of climate action by educating proponents about how to leverage carbon markets to make CCS projects viable.
Primary Responsibilities and Competencies:
- Self-starter who has an existing network of relationships with CCS proponents, technology developers, and other stakeholders and can leverage their network to build a pipeline of contracted CCS and BECCS carbon removal projects.
o The business development will principally be b-2-b with entities in the industrial gas, renewable fuel, fertilizer production, and natural gas processing supply chains.
o The role involves coordinating carbon opportunity feasibility assessments, educating the prospective client on technical, policy and market aspects of carbon projects, modeling project financials, structuring commercial terms, negotiating contracts and general relationship management - Proficiency in technical aspects of carbon standards and protocols applied to CCS.

Required Education, Experience and Certification:
- A Bachelor’s degree(s)
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience; Proven track record of meeting quarterly/annual business development targets;
- Brings a strong network within the US gas process, renewable fuel, or industrial gas sectors;
- Contract negotiation experience;
- Proven track record in client relationship management
Preferred Education, Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s of Science
- A familiarity with carbon offset project protocols and the offset project development process.
- Experience in the CCS space
