General Summary: Anew seeks a young professional to join its Low Carbon Fuels team. The position is based at Anew’s corporate headquarters in Houston, Texas. The successful candidate will have the unique mix of analytical skills and educational background and experience necessary to support a wide variety of commercially focused activities related to portfolio analytics, reporting, and coordination in a dynamic, growing, and global business. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a shared commitment to Anew’s values (hope, trust, integrity, and creativity) and be highly collaborative, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced and multi-disciplinary environment.
Primary Responsibilities and Competencies:
- The Analyst will report to and work closely with the Senior Director for Strategic Coordination and Chief of Staff to:
- Conduct and update at regular intervals analyses assessing opportunities and risks to Anew’s Low Carbon Fuels business and operations from commercial, technical, and policy perspectives, and communicate findings and recommendations to key stakeholders
- Support activities to monitor and report on key performance indicators or prepare responses to other corporate requests
- Develop and implement tools and materials to support coordination and communication across Anew’s Low Carbon Fuels function teams and with clients related to Anew’s portfolio, strategic initiatives, and/or specific projects
- Create and manage a centralized internal repository for key reports, tools, and other resources
- Ad hoc activities as may be required
Required Education, Experience and Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, sustainability, economics, business administration, finance, engineering, or other multi-disciplinary studies with coursework relevant to the energy transition
- At least one (1) year of professional experience, an internship, or extensive coursework in renewable natural gas, low carbon fuels, or environmental commodity markets
- Experience organizing and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data to support strategic planning and decision-making
- A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and coordinate among various stakeholders, both internally and externally
- Strong project management and multi-tasking skills
- An interest in scaling market-based solutions to tackle climate change
Preferred Education, Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in environmental science, sustainability, economics, business administration, finance, engineering, or other multi-disciplinary studies with coursework relevant to the energy transition
- At least two (2) years of professional experience in renewable natural gas, low carbon fuels, or environmental commodity markets
- Knowledge of renewable and low carbon fuel policies, programs, protocols, and accounting standards
- Experience preparing, updating, and/or interpreting financial models and forecasts
Skills:
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerBI, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Highly collaborative and self-motivated
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and multi-disciplinary environment
