Job Title: Senior Manager, DTC

This position leads the DTC ecommerce business and is responsible for strategic direction and execution management of growth plans. This role is responsible for leading the sales, marketing and operations elements required to successfully run the business. You will manage your team, work with agencies, and closely collaborate cross-functionally to achieve business objectives. 

 What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Manage all sales, marketing and operations of the DTC business to exceed assigned targets; manage US sites AncientNutrition.com + Store.DrAxe.com, and oversee Canadian site: AncientNutrition.ca
  • Drive the strategy, opportunities and KPIs for this channel; develop short and long term strategy for the DTC business
  • Responsible for analysis and reporting of key DTC measures such as sales, traffic, conversion, new customers, retention, LTV, AOV, CAC, site analytics and using key insights to drive  recommendations
  • Manage promotional plans, assortment, programs (ex. subscriptions, rewards program) and other digital marketing tactics to achieve KPI’s
  • Create and execute promotional plan based on ROI, historical performance, and consumption data
  • Drive cross-functional projects to support strategic omnichannel initiatives and opportunities
    • Work with other digital marketing teams (Advertising, CRM) on strategy and tactics for paid media, affiliate, email/SMS, SEO required to acquire and retain consumers
    • Work with marketing teams (Social media, PR, Content) to support DTC objectives (ex. drive traffic, improve organic placement) and marketing campaign objectives
    • Own merchandising and work with Web Development team to execute
    • Work with Web Development team to elevate the consumer experience (engagement/conversion) and on web security, privacy, accessibility, payments
    • Understand DTC interaction with other channels; Work with channel counterparts on optimizing consumer journey through omnichannel experiences
    • Work with CX to review feedback and CSAT scores to implement solutions to reduce consumer issues
  • Analyze site analytics to improve performance and share consumer insights with other marketing teams
  • Champion the DTC business and advocate for product innovation, formats, packs, pricing, applications and processes needed for success, with ability to clearly articulate ROI
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual business reviews by analyzing and interpreting data to provide key insights and opportunities to grow the business
  • Provide weekly reporting on key metrics 
  • Budgeting - make budget proposals to meet goals and capitalize on opportunities, track budgets monthly
  • Accurately forecast sales and expenses, provide monthly updates to all relevant stakeholders including Finance and Operations
  • Manage communication between warehouse, inventory, forecasting and purchasing departments to continually improve in-stock rate, reduce operations costs and find efficiencies
  • Manage team performance (2-3 employees) using OKRs and support career development
  • Manage agency performance as required

  • Strong leadership skills to manage team members, agencies and cross-functional teams
  • Highly experienced in DTC ecommerce - Shopify experience required
  • Proficient knowledge of digital marketing - paid media (Google, FB, Pinterest), SEO, A/B testing social media, email, influencers, affiliates, etc
  • Comfortable working with multiple data sources - Google Analytics, Tableau, Shopify, Vendor data (ex. Subscription platform)
  • Experience managing performance and budgets with digital agencies
  • Strong analytical and financial skills required, including experience with forecasting, budgeting, ROI analyses, P&L’s, etc
  • Entrepreneurial - take initiative to identify and action growth opportunities for your business 
  • Project management skills to roll out programs, platforms, etc
  • Requires strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Exceptional communication skills and team attitude required to champion online needs and collaborate with others
  • Adept at presenting information, proposals and sales reports/trends
  • Proven track record of delivering strong sales results and performance versus goals

Background:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Business preferred
  • 5-7 years managing DTC ecommerce

 Additional Preferences:

  • Experience working in a consumer packaged goods (CPG), fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and/or consumer durables industry
