Start Date: Immediate hire
Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited university is required.
Requirements: NYS teacher certification is preferred and NYSED Fingerprinting clearance required
Experience & Skills:
Experience teaching, interacting and working with children of varied ages.
Supervising youth and representing positive role modeling through all interactions with program participants.
Knowledge of child development.
Skill in classroom management and developing lesson plans.
Flexible to the needs of the classroom environment.
Motivated self-starter.
Keeping confidences, loyalties and practice professionalism.
Responsibilities:
Teach lesson plans as outlined by the absent teacher.
Perform all extra duties for the absent teacher as required by the Principal.
Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
Remain at school during hours 8 AM to 4:00 PM
Maintain a professional appearance.
Terms of Employment:
As needed/called by Amber Charter Schools at the rate of $26.74 per hour
