Job Summary
The Government Relations Director is responsible for securing approval for the company's products and services. This involves direct engagement with state and local personnel, including legislators, permitting clerks, boards, councils, and staff. The role requires strong communication and persuasion skills to educate and advocate for the company's offerings. Additionally, the Director must coordinate with the Compliance team to align priorities and ensure successful implementation. This position involves significant travel to visit municipalities and meet with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Municipal Engagement: Conduct in-person visits to state and local municipalities to obtain necessary approvals.
- Advocacy and Education: Effectively communicate the value of our products to diverse audiences, including local and state officials, committees, councils, and boards.
- Team Collaboration: Coordinate with the Compliance team to align priorities and ensure successful implementation.
- Extensive Travel: Embark on frequent travel (up to 80%) depending on your territory and home base.
- Project Follow-up: Monitor permitting, installation, and inspection processes to guarantee compliance commitments to the municipalities are met.
- Customer Relations: Interact with customers and their representatives as needed to facilitate ensure they can complete the compliance procedures.
- Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including sales, installation, field operations, and the Compliance team.
Requirements
- Proven track record in government relations, public policy, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to build relationships and influence decision-makers.
- Experience in navigating complex regulatory environments.
- Willingness to travel extensively.
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.

Base Salary Range: $125,000 - $175,000 per year. Compensation is determined based on experience, skillset, and geographical location.
