Acquia is looking to grow its Program Management Office - the Release Manager is positioned within the R&D PMO and will work directly with Engineering and Product teams. You must have a deep knowledge of Release Management/Coordination, Agile, SDLC, and have excellent verbal/written communication skills. This role will take the lead in owning the release and product lifecycle, which includes release plans, scheduling, coordinating, and managing releases across the enterprise for all of Acquia’s products.


  • Coordinate and collaborate with Delivery Teams, DevOps, QA, Platform Engineering, and others to ensure that all of Engineering's responsibilities for a release are met prior to any release deployment
  • Create and maintain release checklists, providing documentation and cross-training for stakeholders as applicable
  • Work with product and development teams to build a centralized view of all release schedules
  • Identify dependencies and technical risks that affect the various teams represented
  • Identify and communicate risks which could affect the release scope, schedule, and quality
  • Identify and remove roadblocks to help teams to execute against their schedules
  • Facilitate and navigate teams through changes in features, priority, and scope
  • Work with development teams to understand impacts of branches and code merges
  • Supervise progress to plan and design a recovery strategy if the project deviates from the baseline plan
  • Measure and monitor progress to ensure releases are delivered on time and that they meet or exceed expectations
  • Continually improve the release process
  • Identify opportunities for automation


  • Minimum of 5+ years of release management experience
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, maturity, judgement, negotiation/influence skills and leadership skills
  • Experience collaborating with other team members in multiple teams diagnosing and debugging complex systems, and participating in investigating build, deployment, and operational issues
  • Capable of working under pressure and tight deadlines to solve critical issues
  • Ability to drive projects and programs to successful completion whether working solo or with large cross-functional teams
  • Ability to act as the glue that holds various project teams together with a clear understanding of what each team is delivering in each release, and how these results fit together and drive Acquia’s overall business value
  • Strong familiarity with Agile processes and software development lifecycle
  • Demonstrated analytical skills
  • Passion to improve processes, increase velocity, and promote collaboration
