ABOUT THE JOB

  • Serving as a strategic partner to ACLU’s 54 affiliates to increase and improve equity, inclusion, diversity, and belonging practices and culture
  • Working with the Senior Director for Affiliate Equity Programs to implement EDIB strategy and action plan
  • Collaborating with members of the ASNI department to ensure that EDIB efforts are reflected in all aspects of the organization’s human resources work
  • Reviewing affiliate human resource policies and identifying gaps that can be addressed
  • Conducting EDIB training and developing learning measurement strategies to assess and report training results and impact
  • Managing a process to document affiliate EDIB requests and ensure satisfactory follow up to requests
  • Coordinating responses to affiliate EDIB requests
  • Collecting and assessing annual affiliate demographic surveys, discerning trends, identifying challenges and accomplishments; and sharing information with colleagues in the department to help inform their work
  • Monitoring and reporting progress made to increase diversity among ACLU affiliate leadership
  • Designing and developing EDIB resources, case studies, tools, and information for affiliates
  • Identifying and documenting affiliate practices that are positive and replicable for the development of case studies and to support peer to peer learning
  • Coordinating affiliate EDIB related convenings and management coaching (whether provided by consultants or ACLU staff), overseeing feedback surveys and conducting de-briefs and assessments to determine their effectiveness
  • Coordinating activities for cohort-based groups, including supervisors, equity officers, and other cohort groups as assigned by the Senior Director
  • Managing the ASNI EDIB assessment and measurement process
  • Helping to implement efforts to improve the talent pipeline within the organization
  • Bring expertise and leadership to an affiliate restorative inclusion program that provides affiliates with coaching, tools and skills in addressing conflicts, microaggressions, and difficult conversations
  • Organize, support and coordinate cohort-based groups to advance EIDB goals and action plans
  • Working closely with the Knowledge and Learning team, ensuring that the knowledge sharing platforms include rich content on EDIB, including research, case studies and best practices
  • Help lead the creation and implementation of a communications plan that fosters excitement and interest in building belonging cultures and increases awareness and use of resources
  • Managing the ASNI EDIB newsletter ensuring that the newsletter content provides relevant, up to date, information and resources and keeps affiliates informed about ASNI EDIB efforts
  • Ensuring that affiliates are consulted at the early stages of all nationwide EDIB initiatives
  • Acting as an ambassador within the ACLU for the Department’s EDIB programs
  • Supporting efforts of the Chief Equity Officer to implement programming nationwide while helping to ensure that program implementation accounts for particular opportunities or challenges in the affiliates

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in EDIB and change management
  • Demonstrated analytics skills to gather, interpret and deliver data
  • History of building and maintaining positive relationships with internal stakeholders and the external community
  • Strong communicator with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Proactive in anticipating and preempting problems
  • Proficient with MS Office
  • Excellent conflict transformation and restorative justice facilitation skills and experience creating restorative practices for the workplace
  • Experience facilitating, teaching, and coaching in diversity related topics
  • Demonstrated ability to cope with change and shift gears comfortably
  • Operates ethically with high integrity
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, interdependent manner with a wide array of colleagues and clients
  • Diversity, equity, and inclusion program design and facilitation skills
  • Creative, responsive, resourceful, and collaborative
  • Excellent project management skills including planning, logistics, and scheduling
  • Ability to manage a wide variety of projects simultaneously and function autonomously to meet the needs of a diverse client base
  • High level of cultural competence valuing all individuals, respecting differences and engaging in ongoing learning about impacted communities
  • Commitment to the mission of the ACLU

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in related fields like Organizational Development or Organizational Excellence; Learning; Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; or Leadership Development
  • Bilingual
  • At least 10 years of experience developing EDIB training, educational curricula, and resources
